Four years ago, the Son of a Blitch Podcast was launched and today I’m celebrating a few major milestones: 140+ episodes, listeners in 115+ Countries and Territories, millions of downloads, listens and views from the podcast and related social media content.
This anniversary update also provides a preview of what’s coming up in year five, with a mix that reflects the show’s identity: meaningful interviews, and curiosity-driven storytelling.
One of the highlights for year five is a conversation with Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe and a Spiritual Leader of the Lakota people. The discussion centers on the 30th anniversary of World Peace and Prayer Day, an initiative begun in 1996 that brings people together at sacred sites around the world on June 21st. Alongside the history of the White Buffalo Teachings, the episode points toward themes that resonate beyond any one tradition: honoring sacred places, remembering lineage, and treating prayer as a lived practice rather than a slogan. For anyone searching for Indigenous wisdom, Lakota spirituality, or the deeper story behind modern peace gatherings, this upcoming interview stands out as a rare chance to hear context from a living steward of tradition.
The show also previews a conservation-focused conversation with Bob St. Pierre from Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, highlighting habitat work and how people get involved in organizations that actually put resources into the field. This is a useful reminder that conservation is not just policy talk; it’s membership, volunteering, land access, and long-term habitat projects that protect wildlife and upland birds.
Along the same practical line, a forthcoming interview with Dr. John McCall of Stealth Vision moves into hunting and shooting gear innovation, including an anti-cant level built into a rifle scope reticle that illuminates green when the rifle is truly level. It’s a small design detail with big implications for long-distance accuracy, and an episode that is rich for listeners interested in optics, rifle scopes, marksmanship, and precision performance. We also discuss Dr. McCall's tenure as a Texas Wildlife Commissioner, appointed directly by his friend, Texas Gov. Abbott.
Another exciting conversation coming up is one with The Boxmasters, including founders J.D. Andrew and Billy Bob Thornton, focusing on their 22nd album, 20 years together as a band, and a fast-selling run of live dates on the upcoming tour. Learn more and get tickets for The Morro Rock Tour at TheBoxmasters.com
The episode also tees up more author conversations, including New York Times bestselling writer M.P. Woodward, continuing from work connected to The Fourth Option with Jack Carr and branching into upcoming book releases, and gear collaborations (with Mike Irwin) around his brand, Motu Truck Caps, for vehicles like the Toyota Tacoma and Jeep Gladiator.
Although I've been teasing it for a while now, I will be working on getting up to the Headquarters of Vortex Optics to record a podcast with the CEO, Joe Hamilton. We'll talk about the history of Vortex Optics and some of their incredible product line (read my review, here), but will spend a lot of the time covering the C.A.R.E. Movement, which stands for Create A Rare Experience, something his time does time and time again. I also suggest you check out the CARE Movement Podcast, and sign up for the newsletters on the website.
Another exciting interview on the horizon is one I will be hosting with Kent Yoshimura, the CEO and Co-Founder of Neuro Gum & Mints, providing clean energy and focus, calm and clarity, memory and focus, or recharging through better sleep, depending on the product and your personal needs. We'll also talk about the company's focus on philanthropy, and their partnership with Beast Philanthropy (Mr. Beast), of which 100% of proceeds from this tin are donated to help improve lives and drive meaningful change around the world. Their origin story and development is incredible and I can't wait to chat with Kent about it. Fun fact: I take Neuro Mints before every single podcast.
This upcoming year of the podcast promises some exciting new interviews, as well as more written articles and product and book reviews on website, Sonofablitch.com
Speaking of, here are some of the recent product reviews that I have put together for some of my Partners, Sponsors & Affiliates (PSA's):
Decked
Seekins Precision
Vortex Optics
If you haven't already subscribed to the podcast, I'd really appreciate you doing that. You'll be notified when new episodes drop. And, if you have time, leaving a 5 star rating and a positive review for the podcast really helps the show grow!

Four-Year Anniversary Kickoff
SPEAKER_00Hey everybody, welcome back to the Son of a Bleach Podcast. I'm your host, George Blitch, and guess what? Today is a very special day. It is the fourth anniversary of the Son of a Bleach podcast. I can't believe it. Four years, 140 plus episodes. It's pretty wild. I've recorded another five or so, and I've got a lot more coming out in year five here. So this is just a moment I kind of reflect every year on the what's happened in the year past and what's coming up. I won't go digging back too much in the in the past year. You can look through uh the show notes of all those podcasts, find out which one you want to listen to next. But in year five, we've got some really cool ones coming
Chief Orville Looking Horse Preview
SPEAKER_00out. I've got some amazing interviews. Uh, one I just recorded the other day with Chief Orville Looking Horse. He is the 19th generation keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calfpipe, a spiritual leader of the Lakota people, uh, just an incredible man. I met him about 25 years ago when I was doing some work with Harvey Arden, uh former mentor of mine, and he is a former National Geographic writer himself of almost 25 years. Started doing some work with him, traveling around the world, interviewing Indigenous elders. Well, the first person that we kind of did some work with together was Chief Orville Looking Horse. And uh we had republished his book, White Buffalo Teachings, and a second printing through our publishing company, HYT Publishing, over at have you thought.com. And you uh that one is out of print now, but we've got some other books and spoken word projects we did together in our time. But Orville was someone who I really connected with and uh always wanted to have him on the podcast. We worked out of time to have him back on to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the World Peace and Prayer Day. It's an initiative he started in '96, where people gather around sacred sites all around the world, and he's traveled to different places around the world to pray on June 21st on these sacred sites. And we kind of talk about the history of that, the history of the White Buffalo teachings and some of those sacred sites uh that he's visited, as well as the spiritual practices of the Lakota, Nakota, Dakota people, the Great Sioux Nation. So we had a great conversation, really excited to kind of touch base with him again. I think you guys are going to enjoy that.
Conservation Talk With Pheasants Forever
SPEAKER_00Uh, some other ones we recorded, uh, one was with Bob St. Pierre with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, talking about the organization, how he got involved. Uh, we just had a phenomenal conversation, really great guy. And uh, those are both great organizations, doing some great stuff. So I highly encourage you to go check out pheasantsforever.com and quailforever.com to learn more about and join uh those organizations.
Stealth Vision And A Smarter Scope
SPEAKER_00Um, let's see, another one was with Dr. John McCall with Stealth Vision. Uh you guys might know Stealth Vision from their optical line, rifle scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, uh, making some accessories as well, too, or some of the supplements they've done uh for eye health. And, you know, we talk about kind of Dr. John's uh history is becoming an eye doctor and then a surgeon and some of the patents he did in that world, and then again in the optical world, uh creating a really cool thing that's an anti-cant uh level that's built into the rifle scope at the very bottom of the reticle that actually will illuminate green whenever you're fully uh level so that you can make those long distance shots and know you're not canting a rifle one way or another. Because as distance goes, uh if you're canting one way or another, you're going to send your shot off target. So we kind of talk about that and what his you know development was with that patent. Uh really cool rifle scopes there. So go check those out as well over at stealth division.com.
Boxmasters Tour And New Album
SPEAKER_00And we got another really cool one coming up uh with the Boxmasters, an incredible band who's actually on tour promoting their 22nd album. Uh, and this tour is, man, those tickets are selling out real fast. So you got to go check out theboxmasters.com, find out where they're playing near you, and get your tickets. So I'll be talking to the two founding members there, JD Andrew and Billy Bob Thornton, uh, two incredible musicians who I'm very excited to chat about and talk about the history and their love of music and playing together and now, you know, celebrating their 22nd album, which is pretty cool, quite a feat. So um, yeah, go check out theboxmasters.com to learn more about that.
Author Updates And Gear Projects
SPEAKER_00Um, and we'll also be having MP Woodward, who is a New York Times bestselling author. Uh, he just joined me recently uh to talk about his book that he did with Jack Carr, The Fourth Option. And uh he's gonna be coming back to talk about another book that he's got coming out in the fall and to talk about Motu truck caps, uh, some that he has helped to develop uh incredible truck caps. You guys, if you own a Togo Tacoma or a Jeep Gladiator, you gotta look into these. They are top of the notch, really cool. Uh, one of my buddies, Mike Irwin, a phenomenal guitarist out there in Boston, who also does guitar lessons and band lessons, uh, just an incredible gentleman all around. Uh, he's gonna be testing that out, and we're gonna be doing some promotion there together to let you know more about Motu truck caps. So stay tuned. You can go check out their website as well. Uh, but we'll be uh talking more about that with MP Woodward once he uh Mike joins us on the podcast. Some other really cool musicians, uh National Touring Acts are gonna be talking about their albums, their tours, as well as some books. Uh, I can't really speak too much more on that just yet, but really cool stuff coming down the pike. Uh, you know, I've been kind of having some really top-notch musicians on, uh, drummer from Foo Fighters, uh, Elon Rubin, uh, Nick

So stay tuned for those and make sure you go over to Sonofablitch.com, check out the articles page, as I'll be doing a lot more articles and reviews, whether it's products or whether it's books, uh, some from some of my friends have written and we'll be promoting those as well on that.
