Ep. 12 - 5 Years Sober
Today marks my 5th year of sobriety. I thought I'd share a little bit of my story, my struggles, and how I made it to this personal milestone.
I do not ever want to push the idea of sobriety on anyone. It was the right move for me, as I wanted to become a better husband, father, and friend - and I needed to put the drink on the shelf in order for me to become the best version of myself. Many people are able to find a balance in their lives, but I struggled to do that with alcohol.
For anyone that is having any issues with drinking or substance abuse, I highly encourage you to be honest with yourself and others, and seek out the help you need. It is a day at a time journey, but the rewards can be astronomical, and in some cases, it can save your life! Don't give up! If you want to win the battle over your addictions, you can! It takes work, courage, and discipline, but it is all possible! YOU can do it! Find the path, and take it one day at a time.
Thanks for listening, everyone. It means a great deal to me, and I am forever thankful for everyone's support, especially my incredible wife, Meg, our daughters, and all my family and friends!
